Frequently Asked Questions
If you've got some questions, doubts, or you are still not sure if Subwing experience is for you, check out our FAQ section below.
Is Subwing safe?
Like most of the sports, Subwing could be dangerous if used irresponsibly. We want to provide you unforgetable and safe experience, that’s why you will be well instructed before your underwater flight begin. It’s also necessary to read carefully and sign our safety rules before you start. Most of them you can check out HERE.
Do I need any experience?
The only experience needed is swimming. We will instruct you how to use Subwing.
How to maneuver a Subwing?
Maneuvering is like flying a plane. We will give you a training before you begin. To dive, simply point both of your forearms downwards maintaining a firm grip around the grip pads. The wings will now be forced downwards by the water as it flows over it. To resurface, simply do the opposite of diving. Point both of your forearms upwards so the wings are being forced upwards by the water as it flows over it. Turning/Spins are done by pointing your forearms in opposite directions. If you want to move to either sides, turn the wings in opposite directions until you spin into a sideways position, and then point you forearms in the same direction.
What should I wear?
Because you will be dragged underwater we sugest you to wear clingy swimwear. From our experience we recommend swimming t-shirt for the woman and body-hugging swimming shorts for the man.
What should I bring?
We provide everything you need. The only things that you can bring is your own GoPro camera if you want to record your adventure and ECO Card if you already got it. We also recommend keep your valuables and electronic devices in a drybag.
What is ECO Card and why I need it?
ECO Card is basically a proof that you paid environmental fee. ECO Card cost 50 peso per person (Port Barton), 200 peso per person (El Nido) and is valid for 10 days. If you already have your card from island hopping tour you don’t need a new one, if not , we will apply for your ECO Card before the tour. Cost of ECO Card is not included in Subwing tour.
How long is the tour?
Whole tour takes an hour. Your Subwing “flight” will be divided in two parts to let you have a brake. It’s normally 20/10/20. We can also adjust to your needs.
I am Palaweño will i get discount?
Yes! If you are Palaweño just bring your valid ID and you will get 20% off our Subwing tours. If you want to book online, send us an email with your details, selected date and tour option. In case of the discount we accept cash only.
Can I record my Subwing experience?
Yes, you can! We are using original GoPro mounts.
You can use your own camera or rent one from us for 350 peso.
Remember to bring your own microSD card or flash drive (at least 8GB) if you decide to rent our camera. Your adventure will be recorded directly on your SD card or copied on your flash drive after your tour.
What booking options do you provide?
You can either use our online booking system, call us, send an email or visit our booking offices in Port Barton, El Nido and Puerto Princesa. Keep in mind, that if your time is limited the best option is to book a tour in advance. Tours booked online and paid online are having priority.
I'm not sure how to book a tour online.
Can I book a tour for specific hour?
We are confirming all booking details according to our scheduler. You can suggest specific time in message field (when making a booking). Beacuse we use different booking options, we cannot guarantee, that suggested time will be availabe, although we promise to consider your suggestion.
Is it possible to book a tour for more than two persons?
Of course! Simply choose the correct amount of tickets to cover all of your friends. Remember that only two persons are allowed to fly underwater at the same time, so the rest will have to wait for their turn.
What payment options do you accept?
We accept PayPal, card payments (debit/credit) and cash. Remember, if you are booking online, you have to pay directly to complete your booking. Our booking offices allows you to pay by cash only.
How would I know if my booking is confirmed?
We will confirm your booking as soon as we recieve the payment. Confirmation will be sent by email and will include all important details (time, place of departure, etc.). We will also require some details according to your booking. You are responsible to check out your confirmation and answer on time. If you might have a problem recieving the email, let us know in message field (when making a booking) and provide alternative way to confirm your booking.
What is safety deposit and is it necessary?
We are using safety deposit to cover any eventual damages of our equipment. You can either pay 5000 peso (100 USD) or leave your passport. We will return your money or passport after the tour. We are sorry but there are no exceptions to this rule.
I cannot be on time. Can you wait a while?
If your booking is confirmed for specific hour and you cannot be on time let us know as soon as you can. The best way to do that is a phone call or text message as the internet connection might be limited. We can wait only if there will be a gap between the tours. If our day is already fully booked, or there is another tour straight after yours, we are not able to wait. In this case (even if you are only 15 mins late) tour will be cancelled and we will keep 50% of your booking fee. Please understand that we treat our customer equally and want to provide the best experience for each of them. Even a short delay will interfere with rest of our bookings.
